"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived." — Marjorie Pay Hinckley
Lori, here is a closer look at the dividers in my recipe box. To answer your question about the purpose of the ribbon...well, it's simply just decorative, no real purpose!! I bought the alphabetical dividers for index cards at walmart, and I glued scrapbooking paper over them. I added some embellishments, and stapled ribbon to the top. Hopefully this helped! -Erika
***Purchased paper mache letters from Joanns. ***Purchased clear finishing spray paint from home depot. ***Purchased large shaker of gold glitter from Walmart.
1-In a well ventilated area spread the letters across newspaper (make sure you get two different sets of newspaper laid out). (I laid my letters down facing up.) 2- Spray the clear finishing spray over the tops of the letters. Quickly lay the letters down on the second piece of newspaper and GENEROUSLY sprinkle glitter all over the top of the letter. 3-Shake off the excess glitter and pour it back into the glitter container. 4-Let it dry for about 10 minutes. 5-Move the letters to the first piece of newspaper (which may be a little sticky from the spray) 6-Lay the letters on their sides and repeat the process until all of the letters are smothered in glitter! Enjoy!!
*BTW-Martha Stewart has come out with some FUN colored glitter you may want to try. It can be purchased at Walmart.
